I am passionate about women being able to ~

connect with others in their community to learn about pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding

find support so their needs are filled

make change in the maternity care system so that women, babies, and families receive evidence-based, compassionate care.

Chapters of BirthNetwork National organize their birth communities and connect expectant parents with care providers who have endorsed the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative (MFCI).  They offer monthly meetings and events for expectant parents and for birth professionals to come together in service to our mission of raising the awareness and availability of Mother-Friendly maternity care.

Our national online provider guide “Birth and Beyond” lists birth professionals all around the country who offer care based on the tenets of the MFCI.

Memberships and donations to BirthNetwork National help support the chapters and spread the word about Mother-Friendly care.  Show your support of BirthNetwork National’s mission by becoming a Birth Advocate member, or honor a special mother, father, or child in your life by making a donation on their behalf in celebration of their special day!

Working with BirthNetwork National as a board member since 2006 and serving as its President from October 2011 to October 2013 was an amazing, transformational volunteer experience. Volunteer work is service to a greater good that has given me many gifts and taught me countless life lessons. Consider becoming a volunteer in your birth community today!
